Q: Are you still making cakes?
A: We are honoring all existing cake bookings already on our schedule. However, we are no longer accepting new orders for wedding or specialty cakes after today.
You’ll still see delicious cakes and pastries in our shop — they’ll just be part of our new lineup focused on fresh-milled grains!
Q: Why are you making this change?
A: Over time, we’ve realized that milling our own grains and baking with real, unprocessed ingredients is the next step in creating healthier, more meaningful food. It lets us offer something even better: breads and pastries full of natural flavor and nutrition, without shortcuts or preservatives.
Q: I’m disappointed. Why not keep doing both?
A: We understand completely. Cake has been a huge part of Farm to Cake’s journey, and this decision was not made lightly. But the demands of custom cake work — especially at today’s costs — make it difficult to grow in the direction we feel called to.
This shift lets us focus fully on offering even better, more sustainable products.
Q: Will you ever make custom cakes again?
A: Right now, we are focusing fully on our fresh-milled breads and pastries. We’ll will do our best to have cakes available in-shop for everyday celebrations, but we are stepping away from custom wedding and event orders.
Q: When can we try the new breads?
A: Right now—and there’s even more coming.
We’re already offering a growing selection of handcrafted breads, including fresh-milled sandwich loaves, sourdoughs, bagels, focaccia, brioche buns, and specialty breads throughout the week. Many of our breads are made with grains we mill fresh in-house for each bake, giving them the flavor, aroma, and richness you simply don’t get from shelf flour.
As we continue expanding, you’ll see more seasonal breads, savory baked goods, pizza crusts, family meal options, and rotating specials added to the lineup.
Because we bake fresh in small batches, offerings may change throughout the week and by season. The best way to stay updated is through our social media, website, and email newsletter, where we announce new breads, bake days, and limited releases.
